Diabetes Prevention

Preventative measures for type 1 diabetes are not yet known, as this disease seems to involve genetic predisposition.  Researchers are working on preventing the disease or further destruction of the islet cells in people who are newly diagnosed.  

Preventative measures for type 2 diabetes found that through regular exercise (2.5 hours a week of moderate intensity) and maintaining a healthy diet are proven to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
